Ernie Lindsey has a nice set-up here. Ten people on a yacht in the middle of the ocean. One of them is murdered and the murderer has to be among the other nine.The yacht, The Harlot, is owned by rich boy Alex. He's been pursuing Jenn for a year, who has been gently fending him off. The murder victim is Jenn;s best friend, Erica, a supermodel. The night of the murder, Jenn in a quick jealous rage, had hurt Erica. Alex had patched her up.
The other seven were two couples and three singles, two women and a man. The man is Wade, a former cop, who convinces Alec to keep the ship at sea without calling for help until they could figure out the killer.
The revelation surprised me, not to mention other secrets revealed.

The Harlot is an interesting novella by Ernie Lindsey. I was given a copy for reviewing. The Harlot is a mystery and I am usually pretty good at figuring out "who did it". Not so in this story. It will keep you guessing. My only complaint is I wish it were a novel as I hated to see it end.
I really enjoyed this novella. I am usually not a fan of shorter reads because a lot of them lack character development in my humble opinion. Not so with The Harlot. The characters were all there. The plot was well developed and kept me guessing right up to the end. Always a fan of Mr. Lindsey's works, I now believe he has breathed new life into an all but abandoned genre for me. Great read. I highly recommend it.
REVIEW THE HARLOT by Ernie Lindsey
Author Ernie Lindsey comes packed with wisdom, and his writing reveals it. I think he's classed by himself when it comes to character-revealing. Some of his descriptions actually figuratively transport me for example, an individual with sea-green eyes and potentially a hidden and ugly disposition, whose characterization immediately transported me in imagination to the lowest recesses of the ocean where a bottom-feeding predator lurked. Now that was scary!!
Then, scarcely any time passes, before the characters start acting out of character, and violence erupts, followed by worse. The tension is ratcheted so tight I kept expecting the torque wheel to come loose and fly off into space! Imagine confinement with no sense of safety, no recourse, and no escape--I've tensed up just recounting this. I must go back and reread this, just for the sheer resounding pleasure of the terror!
This was a great short story. good when you have a limited amount of time.the story kept me guessing. I loved the twists in the end.
Good short story, but left you hanging- not much of an ending.
Ernie Lindsey gets better and better. Just as you think you have all the characters figured out they throw you a curve ball. He is really great at making his characters so real to the reader. You will enjoy the surprise the characters give you close to the end.
This is a fantastic story that really makes you try to figure out who killed Erica Masters. Each of the characters in this story are all suspects & it really makes you suspect all of the people on the yacht. This is a good suspense book that was written by a great writer, Ernie Lindsey & as a long time reader, I highly recommend that you all read this book - great murder/suspense story!!
